Behind The Lens

Location

I took this shot in Kruger Park, South Africa.

Time

This photo was taken at 17.16 pm on 20th September 2013.

Lighting

We were on safari in kruger park and we were heading towards the exit and as we came round a corner our guide said "get your camera ready because there are two Wahlberg's Eagles mating in a dead tree as the sun was setting. The light was OK and the moment was over in a matter of seconds and the result turned out amazingly.

Equipment

A Nikon D7100 and a Nikon F4 300mm lens on a monopod.

Inspiration

A love of capturing the moment with wildlife.

Editing

Basic processing, contrast ,light and shade, saturation and sharpening were applied .The shot was not cropped.

In my camera bag

I normally have a Nikon D750 and D7100 bodies .A Nikon F5.6 200-500mm lens, Nikon F4 300 mm lens and a Nikon 18-200 mm lens. Manfrotto Monopod ,Aquatec Rain cape.

Feedback

Get up early for the best light and be ready to get your shot ,a few seconds can make the difference between an amazing shot and an also ran picture .Wildlife photography requires patience and time.
