I took this photo at a wedding in Newport Rhode IslandTime
It was a rainy afternoon wedding. While waiting for the bride to get in her gown, I tried to photograph all the wedding details. This was their cake. I tried to get different angles to sow this beautiful wedding cakeLighting
I used a Profoto A1 off camera with a diffusion capEquipment
My camera was a Nikon D810 with a 24-70mm F2.8 lens. The photo was taken handheld with me on my tip toes to get a top-down angleInspiration
The groom at this wedding was a big fishing afficianado. The couple had worked with a great local bakery to create this unique cake. I wanted to capture the groom 'fishing' for his brideEditing
I do my post-processing primarily in Lightroom. Usually, I deliver about 1200 digital photos to the couple. The ease of making batch adjustments in Lightroom is great as it enables me to edit that many files in a short period of timeIn my camera bag
I bring everything but the kitchen sink to a wedding. I load it into a folding wagon and pull it in. I bring 3 camera bodies and multiple lenses. For reception lighting, I set up 3 profoto strobes in the corners of the dance floor.Feedback
Keep looking for different angles to take photographs. I took many photos of this cake but this one stands out for its uniqueness.
