Borrowed a friends art studio and dragged lighting kit up 3 flights of stairs and a huge black clothTime
it was late in the afternoon after a life drawing session with a dozen people in attendance. The model had just finished a 3 hour long seated pose and was anxious to move about including that stretchLighting
lighting lit the front let the back fade into the black background clothEquipment
Nikon d 300 and a Bowen studio kitInspiration
the model was quite athletic and I wanted to capture that and the subtle movementEditing
dodge and burn especially the head as it was distracting to that particular imageIn my camera bag
A simple kit I'm moving to a Lumix gh4 setup using old glass lenses from Pentax and NikonFeedback
when shooting a model have a conversation with them about what they are comfortable and capable of doing. Different models will excel at athletic stretches and various physical activities others are more staid. I tend to work with dancers or artists as they are comfortable with their own bodies in front of the camera. Also discuss clear expectations before the session so everyone is committed to the project.
