Cool shot, how long of an exposure was this, love the mate vs. glossy surface on the water. That really makes this image in that city lights aren't in conflict with too bright of reflections on the water. Nice!

Location
I took this photo from Brooklyn Bridge Park, New York City on November 11, 2017. I had been there back on 9/11/17 to shoot the 9/11 Tribute in Lights and made a return trip to shoot during the blue hour. Weather was warm that day, probably in the 60's.Time
I was there in the early afternoon to capture the sunset over lower Manhattan. This shot was during blue hour from the upper path shooting over the old piling's while some orange sunset colors were still visible.Lighting
I did spend several hours shooting through the sunset and into the night from multiple locations in Brooklyn Bridge Park. This image seems to be one of the best from that series based on the comments and input I have received.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 70D, Tokina 11-20mm at f/18, 30 sec, ISO 100. Camera mounted on a tripod.Inspiration
I had previously shot the 9/11 Tribute in Light from this location just 2 months prior. This park is a great location for shooting lower Manhattan during the golden and blue hours. many locations and compositions to try in this park with includes the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. A very popular spot for photographers.Editing
Shot in raw and imported into Lightroom for basic edits in exposure, shadows, whites, blacks, clarity, sharpness and noise reduction. Exported as a JPEG.In my camera bag
I actually shot this with equipment I no longer have. Sold my Canon 70D and upgraded to the full frame Canon 6D Mark II with 24-105mm F/4 L lens. Sold the Tokina 11-20 and now shoot with the Sigma Art 35 f/1.4, mainly for my astrophotography. Have a heavy and light travel tripod and some ND filters for long exposure shots.Feedback
I have been serious in my photography hobby now for about 6 years and self taught. There is great educational info on the web and YouTube that will help you understand all the in's and out's of photography. For shooting these type of images, work in long exposure and shoot from a tripod. Get yourself a remote shutter release and practice, practice, practice. I always strive to make the next shot better than my last. Happy shooting all.
