Location
I took this photo in the city of Macerata in central Italy. Since there was too much light outside, we took some shots in a neon-lit pedestrian underpass. In fact you can see in this shot the different lights (natural and neon), which form an interesting contrast.Time
If I remember correctly maybe it was noon and the light outside was really strong. We were near this underpass and we improvised.Lighting
I love natural light, but it must always be handled with caution. You don't always have the opportunity to shoot during golden hour, so you have to improvise with what you have available. The neon and the reflection of the upholstery, as well as the natural light, helped to make this shot interesting. Without these factors it would have been just a trivial shot.Equipment
Cold blood and empathy. Nowadays you can take beautiful photos even with entry level, but the difference is made by the photographer. Unfortunately, it's not that easy. however I shot with canon eos 5D mk III with Sigma Art 85mm f / 1.4.Inspiration
Actually I owe a lot to the model. She was very inventive and she proposed many poses. I paid a lot of attention to the light on her face.Editing
Each photo is post produced. My motto is: "if you don't see it, then I did it right".In my camera bag
I used to keep a lot of stuff, too much. In the past I also carried the 70-200, 85mm, 35mm, 24-70, 16mm, 2 cameras, but I often only used 1 or 2 of these. Today I try to keep a mirrorless camera and 1 or 2 lenses. Better results are achieved with less bulky equipment.Feedback
Practice makes perfect. Nobody is able to pick up a magnificent violin for the first time and start playing Niccolò Paganini on the same day.
