Location
This photo was taken in the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.Time
This photo was taken just after sunset. I had to take it hand held as tripods are not allowed. Instead of taking the shot face on, I decided to shoot from an angle giving it a different perspective.Lighting
The still water and the symmetric reflection easily catches anyones eye. The bright lighting of the mosque corridors brings out a great reflection specially when it is dark. I decided to shoot from an angle as there were a lot of people in the corridor and to minimize any distraction.Equipment
I used a NIkon 750 D with a Nikon 24-70 lens. No tripod, hand held.Inspiration
The contrast between very dark and very bright brings the corridor and its reflection in stark focus when compared to the rest of the picture. Also the leading lines combined with the architecture is an inspiration to anyone.Editing
This is a single shot raw picture. Minimum post processing was required. In my camera bag
I normally carry a Nikon D 750 and a D 5 body. My go to lens for landscape photography is the Nikon 24-70 lens which I combine with the wide angle Nikon 14-24 lens. I also carry the Nikon 70-200 lens to get some closer shots of landscapes. Since I like photographing birds and wildlife, my bag also takes in the Nikon 200-500 mm lens. The Nikon 105 mm macro lens also goes in for some close up of flowers and insects. I dont carry a flash normally as I shoot mostly early morning or before sunset. I have remote shutters for my cameras and some basic filters. A tripod is a must.Feedback
Take as many shots as possible at different angles and perspectives, but keep the basics in mind always.
