Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was shot on north shore of Barbados. I drove off the Google Maps and found this remote spot. The sunsets and the ocean is just awesome and the sunset only got better as the evening continued.

Time

5.30-6p

Lighting

Golden hour is the hour before and after sunset or sunrise...always best to arrive early to setup and get ready for the shot. I arrived around 4.30p that day.

Equipment

I shot with a Nikon Full Frame - D610, Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 lens, and I used a tripod.

Inspiration

I love the sunsets in Barbados, anywhere on the west shore of the island every evening is spectacular. I wanted to find a spot where no one had been before.

Editing

I did my usual contrasts setting - highlights, shadows, whites and black. I usually only bump the vibrance up a little, but the colours of this sunset were really clear.

In my camera bag

Sigma 24-70mm f2.8, Nikon 105mm f2.8, and the Tamron 70-200mm, f2.8. Cleaning cloths...and the tripod usually travels with the bag.

Feedback

Be patience, this sunset just kept on getting better.
