Location
I made the photo from the site of my garden in Harderwijk Netherlands, next to the horses field.Time
The photo was made on 11:05 hr just after I had a coffee break.Lighting
In knew before the horse was pregnant. One week after the little one was born in a stable they were brought to the field behind my garden. It was just one week old when I made the photo. In the mean time (it is 18 aug) it has grown a lot and eating grass.Equipment
Canon 5D with 100-400 mm lens + 1.4x convertor. I used a tripod.Inspiration
Thying to get the foal good in frame. This was the moment to do.Editing
No postprocessing was done. I just developed the image from CR2 format to JPG with Digital Photo Professional free program of Canon. In my camera bag
Canon 5D, 100-400 mm lens, 1.4x convertor, macro front lens, pol filter, ND-filter, ND-gradual filter, Black ND 1000 filter, Sigma 24-105 mm ART lens, mini-tripod, spare batteries, cleaning cloth.Feedback
Trick: tape one of the contacts of the 1.4x convertor when you use a f/5.6 lens like the 100-400 mm to cool the camera. Otherwhise the old Canon will not autofocus. Always make images in RAW format so you can have benefit of the better colordepth (12bit). As soon you concert to JPG the colordepth is changed in 8 bits, so you loose info. Be patiënt!
