My cat has a little blanket in our living room he loves to sleep on or under. He tends to get all snuggled underneath with only his nose poking out like this!Time
It was sometime in the afternoon. Every so often someone in our house gets up to look for him because he’s been quiet for a couple hours and sometimes he gets sneaky!Lighting
There’s a window right in front of where his blanket is located, so I had the perfect natural light to capture this. I did a bit of editing of the colors, but the light was already perfect in the original photo.Equipment
I actually took this on an iPhone 6! I was laying in front of him and he just looked too cute. I knew if I left long enough to get my camera he’d have moved, so I whipped out my phone!Inspiration
This cat is one of the biggest joys of my life. We got him when I was going through something, and he was just the greatest gift I could’ve gotten. I take pictures of him every single day and there will never be enough to document his life!Editing
I always pop my photos into Lightroom to color correct a bit. In this case, I changed the temperature and tint to have a soft baby pink atmosphere to match his little nose!In my camera bag
My phone has become the quickest and easiest way to capture. I’m a full time student, so I have very little time to go out and photograph anymore. I currently use an iPhone 11, and the quality is so great that it’s really a decent alternative. It’s not as versatile as my camera of course (a Canon t4i), but it gets the job done.Feedback
Don’t be afraid to capture every day moments! We get so caught up in planning out the perfect photo and having the perfect lighting that we forget that the most meaningful ones are from our daily encounters. And as my teachers always say, “fix it in Post!”
