Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in my at home in my office in a darkened room.

Time

Since you have to darken the room, it can be done at any time a day.

Lighting

I use Stop shot studio It is all done with valves an (in my case 3 flash guns) I can control with a timing device called "Drop shot studio". The photo is taken on bulb mode via remote in a dark room. Basically, I open the shutter, activate the valves and flash via computer then close the shutter. You go through allot of shots to get a good one, thinks you do and call fun!? This is hideous business, if you don't have a lot of patience or time not sure if it is a good idea. It sure gets you hooked ones you start.

Equipment

Nikon D 7000 and 3 flash guns. Stop shot studio.

Inspiration

I have seen a lot of those sort of photos on the net and in magazines and wanted to give it a go.

Editing

Very little post processing is done here. Just a bit of cleaning up (stray water drops etc.) and a little boost in contrast.

In my camera bag

This was shot on my Nikon D7000with a 1050mm lens attached. The perfect lens for this sort of macro photography. Other that I used my Giotto tripod, 3 flash guns and some patience

Feedback

If you thinking about that, keep in mind it requires allot of patience and time before you get anything half descent. In some stage I thought I my ware out my camera. Other than that, Just have fun. Norbert
