Bhutan is truly a beautiful and heavenly place. I was fortunate to be invited back in 2007, by a friend working in United Nations, to visit. This is the early morning view from his apartment. Yes, every morning this greets us. Isn't it gorgeous?
I would also noticed the smoke emerging from some houses, and thought to myself that many people in Bhutan are awake, and most probably making breakfast. The thought makes me happy as I imagine a family enjoying delicious food together.

It was the year 2007, and I was fortunate to be invited by one of my best friends, who worked for United Nations and was stationed at Thimphu, Bhutan, to visit him.Time
It was about 6.30am. I just had breakfast, and was staying at my best friend's apartment at Thimphu, Bhutan. My friend had gone to work. I was in the living room, and watched this morning scene of the Thimphu Valley, people waking, getting ready to go to work, children getting ready to go to school as the morning mists gently float into the valley.Lighting
Hahaha. I am no professional. I truly just see something I like, I feel something about the scene, quickly grab my camera or camera phone and take a photo, and in less than a minute it is done. For lighting, I guess it is also a gut feel. I see what is before me. And somehow I can feel that the lighting is good enough for me, and I take the photo. One thing I did learn over the years is not to take photos with the light behind the subject. Unless silhouette is what one wants to achieve.Equipment
I used the Kodak C330 Zoom Camera. It's one of those easy to use auto focus camera. A very small compact camera. Like I said, I like to take photos very quickly. So this auto focus point and snap camera suits me well.Inspiration
I noticed the gentle smoke billowing to the skies from chimneys of the some Bhutanese houses. And I thought - Mothers of Bhutan must be preparing breakfast for their beloved families. Images and thoughts of a busy kitchen brought a smile to my face. And I also noticed the mists gradually laid a soft snowy translucent blanket over the valley of Thimphu. I am not an expert or professional photographer. But this scene captured my heart, and I quickly took a photo of it. That's how I usually take photos. I see something that captures me emotionally, I whip out my camera or camera phone, and quickly snap.So far, the results are great, and people have commented that they like my photography.Editing
Yes, sometimes I use Gimp to adjust the contrast and brightness a little. Only to adjust the clarity of some objects because what I see with my eyes may sometimes not be what the camera captured. I also use Gimp Levels Curve to adjust parts of a scene that may become too dark to see any detail. In my camera bag
Just my camera. These days only my Samsung Note 4 camera phone.Feedback
Travel and see the world. When my friend invited me, I was actually hesitant. And I am so glad I quickly changed it to a 'YES!'. See the world, look at the world around you. For me, I would see what pops out to me. Usually it is something that I feel good about. Then I take the shot. All the best to everyone! Look forward to seeing all your photos! Blessings to all :) <3
