Was waiting for a meeting to start. Noticed a nearby garden and walked around for a while. Then chanced upon this beautiful flower. Took a photo of it. Didn't notice the insect till later.

Location
This photo was taken near The Army Museum of Singapore. I used to travel a lot, to other countries, and within Singapore. I love to take photos and videos wherever I go. Especially when I see something interesting.Time
It was late morning. I was there for a meeting. And was early. So, I decided to stroll around the area, to explore and see what was there. It was very quiet. There was hardly anyone. This was perfect as I get to enjoy the place.Lighting
Just sunlight from a late morning. I love natural lighting. And especially love it when it plays with the natural world around us. I love how the light reveals and hides things at the same time. And also how the sunlight filters through the leaves to shed light here and there. At the same time, it casts shadows at surprising places.Equipment
No special equipment. I am a smartphone photographer. I enjoy taking photos and videos with my smartphone. I believe back then, I was using a Sony Ericsson phone to capture this photo. I could be wrong. I will have to check the data to confirm. With my smartphone, I love capturing images on the go. I don't spend much time preparing. I simply see something that captures my eyes. And I snap away. Surprisingly, the photos turn out quite well. I have many people who love my photos, and think I take a lot of effort to take them. And when I tell them how I take my photos, they are pleasantly surprised.Inspiration
As I mentioned, I don't put much thought into my photography. I see something, and instinctively I love it. I quickly whip out my smartphone, point and shoot. I suppose you could say that there is inspiration involved. It is just a kind of spontaneous inspiration.Editing
I didn't used to do post processing. Back then, I simply shoot and share the photos I take. For this photo, I believe the only post processing I did was to crop the photo so that the ginger flower becomes the focus of the image. Today, I do some light post processing on my photos and videos. Again, I am a smartphone photographer. So, I use phone apps to do post processing. And usually, light post processing; e.g. to make the photo a little brighter or just a crop.In my camera bag
Just my smartphone. :) I started taking photos with a Sony Ericsson phone. Then a Samsung. Then a Huawei. Today, I am back with the Samsung S21 Ultra. In fact, I choose my smartphones based on how good the camera is. The Samsung S21 Ultra, which I just bought a few weeks ago, is producing some really good photos and videos for me. I will share them here soon. :)Feedback
Anything ordinary can become special. Just see what captures your eyes. When you feel it is interesting, then start taking photos. The results may surprise you.
