Location
I took this photo on Marsden moor West Yorkshire. It was early morning and the sun was out and lit up sullys face beautifullyTime
It was early morning and the sun had been out for about an hour. The light was really nice and lit up sully face beautifully.Lighting
The lighting was provided by a very nice morning light.Equipment
I used my Nikon d810 with nikkor 16-35 lens so I could get nice and close to sully.Inspiration
I wanted to catch sully tilting his head like some puppys do. I probably looked a bit stupid laying on the ground making lots of funny noises trying to get sully to tilt his head. I think this image captures a puppys inquisitive side.Editing
very little just a slight adjustment to contrast and levelsIn my camera bag
I have a Nikon d810, nikkor 16-35 for landscapes and wide open shots of dogs in the landscape, nikkor 50mm f1.8 for nice portrait shots of dogs and tamron 150-600mm for great action shots. I have a selection of hi tech filters and a Nikon flashgun.Feedback
patience is the key to photographing dogs. some are very easy to work with but others wont stay still (especially hyper puppys) get down to their level and get eye contact with the camera. I tend to shoot dogs wide open most of the time to focus on the dog.
