It is impressive view. Alaska is my favorite vacation spot. We never went there in th Winter yet. Got to do that drive from CT to AK in the Winter next.

Behind The Lens
Location
I was traveling on Dalton Highway in Northern Alaska. The Trans Alaska Pipeline (TAPS) runs parallel to the highway. At one point we stopped for a photo opportunity, and I stood under the pipeline, and pointed the camera lens directly upward to take this photo. This gave me a different perspective of the TAPS.Time
It was day time but I don't remember the exact time. I do remember seeing the big Alaska sky, the clouds and the TAPS.Lighting
Since I was standing Under the pipeline to take this photo, I was not sure if the light would be ideal; this was an experiment and it turned out good.Equipment
I used Nikon Coolpix S2700 camera, which has auto focus and exposure. No flash or a tripod was necessary.Inspiration
The Trans Alaska Pipeline is an awesome feat of engineering. As an engineer myself, I was fascinated by all aspects of it, including putting it in various pictures at different locations and times. It was inspiring to stand under this great pipeline and use a different perspective to show it up close and in the distance in one photograph.Editing
This required practically no post-processing. Usually I use cropping in majority of my photos but this was perfect just the way it appeared. In my camera bag
A camera, batteries, and sometimes a sketch pad and a pencil.Feedback
Look for new angles when you look at something interesting. The photograph may look completely different from a 'normal' angle.
