Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in London near the Piccadilly circus.

Time

I took the shot at dusk in the later afternoon.

Lighting

I wanted to have still enough light for the houses, but in contrast the lights of the cars should be already on. So I got a contrast between the grey cold houses and the sky and the warm lights of the cars.

Equipment

I used a Canon 600d with the kit lens. I hadn't got a tripod with me so I had to shoot out of my hand.

Inspiration

When I stood there I already had the final image in front of my eyes. So thats the reason why I took it.

Editing

I just made the sky and the houses a bit more grey and the saturation of the lights of the cars more brighten.

In my camera bag

There are two cameras: the Canon 7D and the 600D. I use many different lenses, normally the 17-55mm 2.8

Feedback

Try to choose a shutter between 1/8 to 1/4 second. The most cars and the houses are still sharp, but you got also some movement in the picture. That makes it more attractive.
