Location
This was shot at Ranganatittu, a bird sanctuary, in the state of Karnataka, India.Time
Its was around 6:30 PMLighting
This was shot in natural light without a flash. There was enough ambient light, even washed to help capture the colours right. The dark portions in the bamboo in the background helped in making the fore ground and the subject stand out.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D5300, with a 18-300 lens.Inspiration
We were waiting our turn to go out into boats to watch the birds at the sanctuary, and while the wait was lengthy, children seemed to be quite restless. In all that restlessness, I noticed my daughter lost in thought, her eyes fixed on something of interest. The rest just happened.Editing
I did touch up the picture a little bit with sharpness and contrast balancing. In my camera bag
I am an amateur and am just learning the ropes of good photography. I normally carry my kit, with my Nikon D5300, 18-300 mm Lens, a UV filter, a couple of additional data chips, my camera battery charger, and an emergency lens cleaning kit.Feedback
I am too much of an amateur to offer other advice right now. I would be happy if I could get some reviews about the picture and if there are ways in which I could have improved on the shot that I got.
