Location
This photograph was captured in my garden, on top of a waterfall flowing into a Koi pond. I always look for inspiration both at home and further afield.Time
It was around mid-day that this shot was taken, on an peaceful and quiet morning in the Spring.Lighting
All natural sunlight was captured in this image, nothing artificial and no flash was used.Equipment
Shot with a Nikon D3200, no tripod or flash, just a steady hand and a lucky shot.Inspiration
I've always been a fan of nature and water, I seem to be gravitated towards both subject matters in my photography. So much goes unnoticed in our day to day lives, so taking a moment to appreciate it from a small creature's perspective.Editing
Nothing over the top - I'm not a huge fan of over-processing, sometimes I feel it can ruin a photograph by looking too staged and messed with. I love using images with little to no editing. In my camera bag
A tripod that has been passed down the family - nothing special, just does what it needs to. My go to camera is my Nikon D3200, a huge upgrade from my previous cameras. I actually started out with a compact digital camera in my teens, and that's where my interest began.Feedback
I'm a great believer that it's not just the equipment you use, it's having the infamous 'eye' for taking the photographs in the first place. Techniques can be learnt, of course, and the best equipment can give you an edge, but if you can't see what other's can't, and you aren't informed of basic 'rules' (although it is fun to break the rules once in a while), then your photographs will always be sub-standard. It's important to keep learning, keep taking photographs at every opportunity, and don't be afraid to show people your work and take on board criticism, good and bad.
