Gorgeous shot. Looks more like a cat than a dog.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken In Roxborough State Park, SW of Denver, Colorado.

Time

The fox was seen around 4:00 pm., as it made its evening rounds looking for food.

Lighting

The lighting was subdued somewhat, as the fox was in a shady area.

Equipment

I used a Canon 5D with a Canon 100-400 f4.5/5.5 lens, and the camera was handheld.

Inspiration

I was working my way up a popular trail, as the fox worked it's way down the same trail. I quickly set my camera bag to the side and was in cautious pursuit Fortunately, the fox wasn't easily spooked, and allowed me several shoots, before heading out of sight.

Editing

Post processing was done in PSE6, and was minimal, although, shooting in RAW format requires more processing than in-camera processing.

In my camera bag

I now have a Canon 7D for wildlife, and a Canon 5Dll for landscapes. I carry an assortment of lens's from Canon 17-40 mm, to Canon 100-400 mm telephoto.

Feedback

Be aware of your surroundings, and always have your camera with you. Your worst camera in hand, beats your best camera at home.
