iv recently taken an interest in photography , which goes without saying that Im no expert , but when I look at Black and White photos...theres something about it that just...attracts me , when I look at this picture...it reminds me of the unexpected world we face everyday. no matter which country or area, there will always be the unknown just outside that door

Location
This photo was taken in an abandoned warehouse area near Round Rock TX.Time
My brother and I were exploring an old industrial area late in the day in December 2014 when I noticed this doorway with the light pouring through in an adjacent building. I asked my brother to walk around the building and stand in the doorway, thinking it was an interesting composition. The image has become one of my favorites.Lighting
The low angle of the sun made the light flood much stronger than at mid-day.Equipment
I used a Canon 40D with a Tamron 28-75 lens and was hand-held.Inspiration
My brother directed us to this area as he lived in the area and was instrumental in the exposure.Editing
I converted the RAW image to B & W in PSE Elements and removed a few extraneous light leaks on the entry wall while bumping up the contrast. In my camera bag
I typically carry three camera bodies, Canon 5D ll, Canon 7D, and Canon 7D ll. I usually use a monopod and my go-to lens are Canon 24-105L and Tamron 150-600 G2, and Canon 70-200L f/4.0, though I carry several others including a Canon 17-40L.Feedback
Keep your eyes open for any scene that might be of interest. I find that I tend to see everything as if looking through a viewfinder. Always have a camera available as you never know what photographic opportunities will present themselves.
