Location
From the Royal Botanic Gardens - There would have been 40 photographers there at the timeTime
This would have been taken at around 7:15pm, most of the photographers had already left and it was just just myself and two others left thereLighting
As above, most of the photographers had left and a few of us remained. Shooting Real estate photography almost 7 nights a week, I knew what lighting I was looking for with this shot. No flash was usedEquipment
Nikon D700 and I believe this was taken with none other than my nifty fifty (50mm) (After trialing everything else and having no idea that I would use this lens for this shot that I have thought about and pre planned for so long!)Inspiration
I'd seen photos of the Opera House and Sydney Harbor Bridge ever since I can remember and had always wanted to go there. I'd literally dreamed of doing a road trip (I live in Brisbane) to get the different shots I'd seen and wanted to recreate and had always wondered what it was like in person. It didn't disappoint, amazing place. This was taken on new years day/nightEditing
This was 1 RAW shot edited in photoshop to enhance/correct colors and a few other things. I believe ISO 200 from memory, maybe slightly lowerIn my camera bag
For work I have my Nikon 14-24 beast, my 50mm and my 28-300. I'd like to maybe hire the 24-70 for a play around and see what it's got. I also have a lee filter system for my 14-24 which I've just got and am still learning the possibilities and an sb900 flash and Manfrotto tripod and an Exposisk for white balance which I use for realestateFeedback
I think this shot in particular is really open to interpretation which I love. I know out of all the other photographers who were there with me that night (and the no doubt, tens of thousands that visit this spot each year), each and every photo will have their own unique look and feel, which is another reason I love photography so much
