Behind The Lens

Location

This was shot in my Studio/Garage. And the Background was shot at a local high school.

Time

2pm

Lighting

I used a there light setup so make it easier to cut out the subject.

Equipment

Canon 7D 24-105mm L series lens Alien Bee Einstein and a 48" soft box and two Alien Bee B800's for the edge lighting.

Inspiration

Joel grimes work.

Editing

I created the whole image in photoshop combining the subject and the background. I used blend if modes to create more dramatic highlights and shadows.

In my camera bag

Canon 7D 24-105mm L Series lens,85 !.4 Sigma lens, 70-200mm f2.8 L Series lens. Alien Bees B800 and Einsteins Canon 580EX Speedlight.

Feedback

My best advice is to have a plan ahead of time. To make a convincing composite there are four things that matter Lights, sharpness, coloring and atmosphere.
