Behind The Lens

Location

Everyone is going to get a real kick out of this one but this picture was taken at a Home Depot in their outdoor plants section.

Time

I had just finished up at work that day. I had a really rough week and was in desperate need of some peace and relaxation. I am going to estimate between 8:00-9:00 PM EST. I was on the highway, heading west and noticed the color of the sky and knew I had to get somewhere to take some pictures. Photography is my Xanax. Any time I’ve had a bad day, I can make it all go away within a few moments, just by peering at a potential shot

Lighting

All natural, sunset lighting. There was an orange hue that evening though.

Equipment

I utilize my iPhone 12 for 99% of all my pictures. It’s easy to use. Readily available and captures some of the nicest pictures.

Inspiration

Photography is my Xanax. Any time I’ve had a bad day, I can make it all go away within a few moments, just by peering at a potential shot. I have had some really bad losses the last couple of years and photography has been one of the things that got me through it.

Editing

Nothing other than a slight crop and dehaze.

In my camera bag

As previously stated, my iPhone 12 is my most used camera.

Feedback

Pay close attention to what’s going on around you. I as I earlier mentioned, I could tell by the color of the sky that it would be a great sunset with perfect lighting. No matter what the subject or time of day, if you pay attention you can find a million perfect shots.
