Heavy overnight snow at high elevation frosted these ponderosa pines My wife and I were treated to this majestic scene driving from Chama to Taos. Tree after tree frosted like Christmas, a true winter wonderland. The photographer in me desperately wanted to stop and capture the scene unfolding, but snow was piled high on each side of the tow lan road left no place to stop safely. Finally, a plowed pullout appeared. We stopped; took in the wonder of the moment; and, I snapped a few image. The small tree in the foreground is the winner for me; it makes the composition.
