Location
Well, it might be an interesting story, as the girl in the picture has been me for many years. The photo was taken in my apartment in Buenos Aires, on a creative afternoon in the company of the talented artist and great friend Sergio Avello, when we challenged ourselves to create following our intuition, without preconceived ideas and sometimes highly challenging as in the case of this photo, where I am both a photographer and a model, with the camera on a tripod, a fully manual camera! :)..PentaxME Super, and Sérgio was my assistant also hairdresser and makeup artist.Time
End of the day... something in between 8/9pm until maybe e little past midnight.Lighting
Yes, in this photo it was the light that created the strong presence of the "Darkness". I took a lamp that was in my living room table, placed right next to me, on the floor. And since it had an opening at the top, it cast a long shadow rising up from behind me.Equipment
This photo was taken with my old Pentax ME-Super fixed on a tripod, triggered by timer, 35 or 50mm lens, I can't. remember Only this.Inspiration
Well... I can say that I was motivated by the desire to get in touch with my creative source; this photo can be considered the result of surrendering to the "creative labor", as my friend Sergio use to call. I decide do not determinate how the creativity itself would be, but work with the imaginarium that already existed around us (time/space) and so, the artist's labor would be to achieve total delivery and thus tune in to it. And so, suddenly there was this light and luminous presence in the room in perfect harmony with its dense darkness. Something changed in me, reflected in the expression on my face, Sergio noticed it instantly and said, "There it is!" and run to the camera, activating the timer that I had previously let it ready for him to press the start... and voilá! The Beauty and her Darkness were caught for ever in a little piece of chemistry and celluloid before returning to the imaginary dimension where inspirations wait to be invited down through the creative labor of artists.Editing
Yes.. I used a smooth filter to eliminate some noise from the image and ended up blurring the background. In my camera bag
2 cameras, 1 digital, 1 old mechanical / extra batteries / 35 mm, 50 mm, 75-300 e 18-55 lens. filters / remote control / flash / extra memory card.Feedback
Being a photographer and part of the photo at the same time can be quite challenging, but it's an interesting experience and it can be fun and stimulating as well. It would be a good idea to invite someone with whom you have a good understanding to help you, and share good moments expanding concepts and improving your technical and creative skills.
