Location
This photo was taken on location at Perdekraal Wedding Venue close to Ermelo, Mpumalanga South Africa.Time
This is late afternoon round about 16:00 during summer time in South Africa which gives one about another hour before sunset. A super time of to take photos being in a time we like to call the "Golden Hour". The ambient light is still strong enough not to worry about to low shutter speed or cranking up the ISO. And the bonus is that soft warm light.Lighting
With Anna-Marie's long hair, white dress and pearl necklace I wanted the sun behind her for that highlight rim effect. It just creates an extra dimension in the image.Equipment
On this image I used the EOS 70D with a Godox V1 on camera flash.Inspiration
I just love taking photos of beautiful people in beautiful settings. And when you are fortunate enough to get beautiful natural light with the setting it is a total bonus.Editing
Only post processing on this image was a slight increase in contrast and sharpness. In my camera bag
I have 2 Canon camera bodies... EOS 70D and 60D. The lens I use the most is the Tamron 24-70 F2.8. Then there is the Tamron 10-24 F3.5, Tamron 70-200 F2.9 and Sigma 70mm 2.8 Macro. I always take my 2x Canon Speedlight and 1x Godox Flash with. The easy to carry Manfrotto tripod also goes with but I rarely use it - sometimes for off camera flash.Feedback
I tend to when I have the choice of selecting the time and venue for a shoot to go with afternoon shoots till the sun goes under. I try to look for a location where I have a choice of different backdrops. Open field, trees, old building etc. It is not ease to find a spot that one can use with more variety but is really worth is if one do find such a spot.
