Location
This Beautiful Water Lilly was by the side of the Ross River Bank, not far from the Palmetum, Townsville, North Queensland, AustraliaTime
Just a bright summers day again in Townsville, we do get about 320 days of sunshine, every year. Scattered high clouds like fluffy cotton balls, made standing in the full sun a little better on the day this photograph was taken. Was very happy that I also remembered to take my tripod. First I looked the bank for recent saltwater crocodile activity, scratch marks, did not see any, so I got closer to the rivers edge! Set up the camera and tripod, took a series of about 10 - 20 shots, and then got well away from the waters edge, no I was alone, no spotter!Lighting
The timing was about 12 noon so the Sun was directly overhead, which helps with the Reflection on the water surface.Equipment
FujiFilm, FinePix S8400W, Tripod, leveled, f/6.5, 1/420 sec. exp., ISO-200, 189 mm Focal Length, no flash! White Balance Auto.Inspiration
Inspiration, the Lilly was staring at me, asking for me to shot it!Editing
No Processing, slight cropping on a couple of edges from memory! In my camera bag
Camera, Note Pad and Pencil, Level (Tripod) and extra 4x AA batteries, you only run out of batteries one in the middle of a shoot, then you always carry spares!Feedback
Middle of the day, when sun directly overhead, take more than 5 or 6 pictures, don't forget to try different camera settings, and do be careful of Crocodiles.
