Since I work towards light painting I am looking for new forms of development of this creativity. This time I tried photography long exposure with light painting and glass crystals. It turned out unusual a series of portraits that is full of details and unexpected glare that can take a long time to consider. It's just the opposite minimalism, which I was striving for before. The glass I used is bad optical properties, therefore in photographs multiple chromatic aberration, it gives an unusual combination modernity and retro.

Behind The Lens

Location

Photo studio in Rostov-on-Don

Time

My shooting requires darkness, but this particular shot was taken during the day in a basement studio where there was no daylight)

Lighting

I use drawing with light and light sources made by me. These are flashlights and LED strips.

Equipment

Sony A7III + Sony FE 28-70 3.5-5.6 Tripod + many light brushes

Inspiration

I saw photographs taken through glass prisms by a 19tones photographer and thought that I could do something similar, but in my own technique, with light painting and long exposure.

Editing

A series of shots from this shooting did not require much processing. I just corrected the color and retouched the model's skin.

In my camera bag

Sony A7III + Sony FE 28-70mm 3.5-5.6 Sony a6300 + Samyang 16mm 2.0 Two tripods, many flashlights and light brushes.

Feedback

Don't be afraid to experiment. This photo was rated rather poorly on social media, but I was sure that this series of works has great potential.
