Behind The Lens

Location

This was captured in a part of my front yard. The mock orange is a ver interesting plant, and the bees love it.

Time

Late afternoon, late summer. It took a while for one of these guys to sit still and pose.

Lighting

A short while before "golden hour". This plant has very good color, and the light at this time made the bee stand out well in this light.

Equipment

Shot with Nikon D850 wearing a 200-500, natural light. A tripod would have helped, but bees are flitty and there's seldom time for moving one around for the capture.

Inspiration

For this shot in particular, This bee attracted my attention due to its almost metallic carapace.

Editing

Some small adjustments in LrC, color to make the bee pop a bit.

In my camera bag

I shoot off and on, more based on what's happening, so for me there really is no "normal."

Feedback

Bee patient.
