Location
I took this picture in my own studio at home.Time
It was in the afternoon but as it is in studio, in a fully controled light environement, the time doesn't matter.Lighting
This is a single light setup: a 140 cm octobox, camera left, facing the model. The luminosity of the backdrop, which is a white seamless paper, is controlled by the distance between the octo and the model and the model and the background.Equipment
For this particular shoot I used a Fujifilm GFX100, which is a medium format camera I was testing at this moment for Fujifilm. The lens is the Fujinon GF110mm F2 R LM WR. It is more or less equivalent to a 85mm on a 35mm camera.Inspiration
The model and her tattoos. We were trying to find a good coherence between her and the clothing. We found that this piece of jean's was perfect for that.Editing
Not that much. There is some beauty retouching, some dodging and burning and of course the black and white conversion. In my camera bag
I'm a Nikon shooter. My main camera is a D810. My go-to lens for portrait is the Sigma ART 105mm f/1.4. Sometimes in studio I use also a Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VrII.Feedback
My main advice is to find a great model, because, even with the best light in the world, it is the model that will make your picture. You also have to really know lighting in order to be able to create what you have in your mind.
