Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken in a Botanical Garden in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Time

It was early Morning and I came back from a rather disappointing sunrise. Before I went back to the hostel I decided to take some pictures of the flowers. This is when I took this picture.

Lighting

It was very hazy and cloudy. So perfect soft lighting for object photography.

Equipment

Sony 7 R, 24 - 105 mm f.4, was zoomed in at about 100mm for this shot

Inspiration

I love beautiful flowers and this one instantly caught my eye. The color and leave shape is very unique and the dark background made for a great composition.

Editing

Yes, just made the colors more vibrant and adjusted the tone curves. Other then that just Basic LR edits.

In my camera bag

I try to shoot as simple as possible and only bring x1 zoom lens or 1-2 Prime. My Favorite Prime lenses are 24mm, 50mm, and 85mm. I have a tiny tripod for long exposures and a couple of ND filters which I never use...

Feedback

Just shoot every day and practice composition and editing. What helped me the most with Photography was literally to shoot every day regardless the conditions. Often the best pictures come when you don't expect them...
