Location
I did this shot in a parking beside a toys r us, we had just moved the car from doing a shoot beside a warehouse during blue hour. As the sun came up I seen a shot that I wanted.Time
Clear day, golden hour, in the summer means we were on location a 6am.Lighting
I seen the car was back lit with the main light I was using. (Aka the sun.) It was at that early morning low level with a perfect orange/golden glow.Equipment
Shot with my Sony A9 an 85mm 1.8 lens. But most importantly I had a cpl filter that I would clock to varying degrees of reflection. A must have for people who shoot cars.Inspiration
Many current car photographers inspire me. Larry Chen, Aaron Brimhall to name a couple. I like how they can shoot a car in its most natural environment and still look cool.Editing
Very little post, a couple brushes and sliders through Lightroom in a couple minutes. In my camera bag
My bag has been being everything I may want. It currently weighs 50lbs. Two Sony bodys, 35mm, 55mm, 85mm and a 28-70 zoom and or my 80-200mm 2.8. Also my laptop, digital storage, various filters, cables etc.Feedback
Shooting cars can be a challenge because of the reflections, so the CPL filter is key. Golden hour light really makes harsh reflects become butter. Unless your doing commercial work get angles that aren’t chest height, climb stuff, shoot down, shoot up, get close. 3/4 and 7/8 angles to the car are always a good starting points.
