Location
Outside of Susadel, Ecuador are several cliffs where condors are known to nest. I spent a morning watching them take off and land from this quiet and secluded area. This shot was captured as the condor approached from the mountains behind me.Time
This was a morning shot, probably at 9 am, on a beautiful clear blue sky day.Lighting
The clear sky provided a great background for the shot.Equipment
The shot was from a SonyA6000 mirrorless camera on a tripod.Inspiration
I love watching birds.Capturing their image is sometime very difficult, especially if you are not ready. I was just laying back and relaxing when this guy caught my eye from behind me. I waited for him to come in closer as I knew the nests were below me... and he did. Patience is key.Editing
The only post processing I did was to crop out some branches from a nearby tree.In my camera bag
Other than my trusty camera, I usually have a second or even third lens. I also keep extra SD cards and batteries so I'm always prepared, no matter how long I am out. I also have both a full size and mini tripod to steady the lens if needed. The last thing I always have is a notebook to note time and location for shots which I can then incorporate into notes attached to the image later if desired.Feedback
Patience... wait for the right shot. Scout out your location if you are looking for a particular image.
