Location
Not surprisingly, this photo was taken in Paris, standing in front of the (pre fire) Notre Dame CathederalTime
This shot was in the evening. There were lots of people around so I opted for a long exposure to minimise the number of visible people in the pictureLighting
The natural lighting at blue hour is typically beautiful. Bring your tripod!Equipment
Canon 5d Mk3 body, 16-35mm lens (my go to lens), tripod and NISI filters. Purely an ND Grad for this shot. 6 stop or 10 stop I expectInspiration
The majesty of this UNESCO building and it's resulting fame and historical significance.Editing
Some clean up of some people ghosting (people that didn't quite stand still or move fast enough for the long exposure to blot them out), some saturation and clarity tuningIn my camera bag
Way too much these days. DSLR body, 2-3 lenses, NISI filters, cleaning products, shutter releases, batteries, film/cards and a mini tripod that I almost never use, but keep carrying it around anyway!Feedback
Long exposure here is key, and also standing in front of a majestic monument :-) Get an ND filter and a tripod and practice these. You may need to focus first, then switch to manual focus and add the ND filter (don't move the camera!).
