Behind The Lens

Location

It was taken in Texas. Near a pond at at hotel property. He was perched watching for fish movement.

Time

I woke early and went for a walk around the natural areas of the hotel. Spotted the heron and took numerous excellent shots of it. I stayed for a half hour as I couldn’t pull myself away from such a good opportunity

Lighting

It was a sunny clear morning around 10am

Equipment

Canon XTI camera with telephoto lens. No tripod

Inspiration

The beauty and closeness of the bird. And his willingness to pose fir many photos

Editing

I did not do much editing of the photos as it was already picture perfect

Canon 40D. Assorted lenses. Filters. Flash unit
