After several days sleeping 2 or 3 hours (when I had time to...) between sunsets at 10:30 p.m. and sunrises at 4:30 a.m., I was finally rewarded with a dawn that alone would make up for all the adversities I experienced on this trip .
During the climb to old men of storr I had a mishap on the way that forced me to do a hard climbing detour for 30mins and with 6kg on my back. At the limit of my strength and already without feeling my legs, only looking at the horizon and seeing these amazing colors encouraged me to go on.
The several disappointments experienced in the days before with the ever-unpredictable Scottish weather gave way to a reinforced spirit to never let disappointment triumph :)
Although this is an overly photographed spot I have heard from locals that it's not that common to witness such clear sky with these intense colors so I feel pretty blessed to have been there, it was for sure one of the most magical sunrises that I have ever witnessed .
In terms of composition I tried to do a slightly different framing from what you generally see at either a further distance or closer to the mountains on the right . My goal was to have a bigger proximity to the lakes and make them stand out more while keeping the mountains as a main subject . The flowers on the foreground also add up to the scene with its color contrast with the greens.
