Location
Outside on my back porch.Time
Early evening, before golden hour started.Lighting
I actually had to follow it around since it was moving pretty fast and the day was ending.Equipment
Fujifilm X-T2, Fujifilm kit lens (18-55mm), handheldInspiration
In my head I actually planned to do a flat lay of a bunch of rose heads, zoomed in pretty close to make it a solid background of roses....but when I got home saw I only had a handful of decent roses in bloom. Since time was ticking on the lighting, I thought on my toes and ran in the kitchen to do a quick visual scan for props. Saw this old pot on top of the cabinets and thought "that'll work", filled it with water and ran back outside to get the photos. Composition I just played with as I shot on the fly.Editing
Yes, in Photoshop with Nik Collection Analog Efex Pro. Also cloned out all the random little pieces of dirt on the background. In my camera bag
Varies on the day and what I'm shooting. I always have my Fujifilm X-T2, and like to have at least 1 longer lens and 1 shorter lens. Indoors I carry flashes and umbrellas. Other than that I like to keep it pretty light.Feedback
Just go with the flow. Most of my favorite images happened because the concept in my head didn't work out. What was captured ended up better because of just thinking in the moment and saving the shoot. Other than that, play. Always play, new techniques, subjects and edits. It's fun and sometimes leads to great rewards.
