I've always been intrigued with how a leaf or any part of a plant that transpires, modifies itself to reduce the rate of doing so. In this shot, I've gone into ( closer ) the stipular part of a geranium. If you can, please download it and zoom in to see the thorns or hairs. I have time lapsed this part of the plant with a microscopic lens and have been able to see the water moving about in the thorns. I wish I could find a way to show to you but this is just a zoomed out instance from that time lapse! Enjoy!
