Location
The photo was taken at the abandoned village of Budir, which houses the Black Church the most photographed in the country. Is a small hamlet in Búðahraun lava fields in Staðarsveit, which is in the western region of Iceland, on the westernmost tip of the SnaefellsnesTime
It was on the morning of 26 February, shortly after an intense snowfallLighting
In Iceland the weather changes always, and after a bit of waiting and some photos taken while it was snowing, the sunlight started shine on the horizon, creating a thin colored band that helped me to "break" the black and white photos toneEquipment
I used my Nikon D 610 with Nikon 24.0-70.0 mm f / 2.8Inspiration
I wanted to keep the pretty little church in the foreground, but I tried to introduce, with a diagonal, the wall of stones covered with fresh snow, to complete the composition.Editing
I adjusted the white balanceIn my camera bag
My current gear is the following: Nikon D610 accompanied by Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f / 2.8 G ED - Nikon AF-S 14-24mm f / 2.8 G ED - Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 G ED VR II. My tripod is a Benro C2970F - carbon with a mounted head Manfrotto MH054M0-Q5 Head Serie A 054. I have Lee filter holder with Lee polarizing filter and neutral densityFeedback
Before my trips, i have clear ideas in my mind regarding to what i would like to catch in my photo, but this can really changes depending from the inspirations I feel from discovering unexpected situations
