Each year, myriads of monarch butterflies migrate thousands of kilometers down south to Mexico. They take the long journey with all its potential risks, to winter in more temperate conditions, which they find in the highlands of the Sierra Nevada. Especially when sun is out, it is an impressive spectacle powered by nature. Nevertheless, they are in danger of illegal logging in their wintering areas, as they only measure few hectares. Hopefully, this natural wonder will last, so future generations may rejoice it.
