These bats with pig noses seem to glow in the dark, but actually they are not. They bit through the lateral veins of a Heliconia leaf to form a tent-like structure, which gives them shelter during the day. In fact, they have white fur, which is very particular, as there exist only few species of white bats worldwide. For this shot, I was illuminating them through the modified leaf with a strong headlight, while I was crouching on the floor.
