Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in Covington KY at the Devou park, a popular destination for many visitors. It has one of the best views to downtown Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and the Ohio River. This image is a section of the golf course and this particular area I have been taking pictures throughout the years.

Time

Later afternoon when the sun starts setting.

Lighting

Nothing special, just the right time of the day on a beautiful winter evening. The light snow cover, the shadow of the the tree and the deer tracks in the late afternoon light caught my attention.

Equipment

I am shooting Olympus cameras and lenses for several years and very seldom use a tripod. This photo was taken with the E-M5 and the 12-50mm lens.

Inspiration

I visit this area several times during the month just to take a walk and always stop at this point to check for a photo opportunity.

Editing

Post processing is very easy for me. I shoot RAW and only use Capture One Pro. Years ago i purchased PS since "everybody" was using it and I felt i need it it to make good pictures. Now, all my processing is done exclusively using Capture One.

In my camera bag

Since the m4/3 is relatively small and light, all my equipment fits in a small Lower backpack. Inside I have two Olympus E-M1, 12-40mm f2.8, 12mm f2, 17, 45mm and 75mm f1.8, 75-300mm and the 9-18mm UWA. The tripod always remains in the car just in case for those rare moments when i need one.

Feedback

It helps to know potential photographically interesting sites and if they are easily accessible it makes it easy to visit them often to catch that right moment.
