Over the past four summers I have worked for the US Geological Survey and with US Fish and Wildlife on a wildlife conservation project involving the critically endangered black footed ferret, prairie dogs, and the plague! When out in the field, we live in a government trailer park in the middle of nowhere, completely off the grid in north eastern Montana, known as Ferret Camp. The Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge is a beautiful place, and I miss it every day. Just beyond the hills in the picture is our "swimming hole", the Missouri Reservoir. This was a particularly beautiful morning with some interesting rolling clouds this past August... wouldn't you miss it?
