Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was made in studio with one large bank and on spot as highlight from the background. Broncolor 3200ws powerpacks.

Time

Being in a dark studio with artificial light, the time of the day is not really important...

Lighting

The idea was to have a very soft light and play with the dark skin of the model. I wanted all black, dark skin and just a little highlight to separate form the background and give a white point.

Equipment

I think Canon 1DS MKIII at that time, with an 85mm. All the flashes were Broncolor 3200ws powerpacks.

Almost no PP, raw conversion in CaptureOne with just levels and BW conversion.

In my camera bag

Right now I have a Contax RTSII with a 50mm 1.7 and a 28mm 2.8. Personal project with film. I usually work with Fuji XPro2 and a bunch of Fuji lenses.

Feedback

The advice is to learn the basics of exposure and artificial light. Then respect the model and be happy :)
