Location
North of Byron Bay, Australia, during a visit at a friends place.Time
A very hot afternoon. A very very hot afternoon, as they are in Australia in January.Lighting
The light was really bright and sharp, but it created really nice reflection in the eye.Equipment
Canon 5D, EF100 2,8 USMInspiration
Just got out of the water when I noticed the reflection in the eye of a friend’s 10 year old daughter. The reflection is showing his friends, sitting in the sun on the beach. I ran for my camera and shot the picture and spent the rest of the afternoon smiling...Editing
Cropped it a bit to get more focus on the reflection of the beach life than eyelashes. Don’t recall doing any more editing to it.In my camera bag
Trying to be kind to my back and not bring more than I need in the camera bag. I got several lenses and Led lights and tripods, but do mostly use my canon 100 lens, both for portraits, landscapes, macro and action. I really do like the lens, the quality is outstanding.Feedback
Tripod does make it easier when working with a heavy camera and lens when shooting macro if your hand is not super steady. Tripods are useful, though I never bring one when out and about hiking, as I am really tired of carrying stuff I may use, all those stuff ends up too heavy to bring for ”just in case” scenarios. If a tripod is really needed when out hiking, improvise, use a stone, twigs, a fallen tree...
