Behind The Lens

Location

The hot Air Balloon ride was a birthday gift to my best friend. This photo was taken in the Sonora Desert, Phoenix AZ . I had just bought my first DSLR camera, only had it maybe a week ,was learning how to use it.

Time

This was my first hot air balloon ride and we (my best friend and I) woke up around 4 AM to meet up with our pilot at 5:30 AM. It was cold this early in the morning but I was so excited about the ride it didn’t matter. There were so many hot air balloons taking flight. I took this shot on April 16, 2016 around 8 AM.

Lighting

One of the great times to take pictures is the beautiful early morning sunrise.

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon D3300, with a Sigma VR 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 lens.

Inspiration

Wow! It was so awesome!! Flying high like a bird! What a wonderful feeling and the view was beautiful. I just happened to looked down and seen this hot air balloon going underneath us I thought to myself bird’s eye view. I took the shot.

Editing

Yes, The only thing I did was darken image a little to enhance details and colors.

In my camera bag

I carry my Nikon D3300 camera, Sigma 18-250mm 3.5-6.3 zoom lens, Nikon 35mm 1.8, 50mm 1.8 prime lenses, wireless release, my tripod and stuff for cleaning my lenses.

Feedback

Be prepared for anything; be aware of everything that’s going on around you. Always look for different angles, most of all have fun and take a lot of pictures.
