Location
We lost our home to a fire in Cobb, CA and were relocated by our insurance to a condo in Yountville, CA. It's a pretty area, but it took awhile for it to feel like home. This picture was taken in the second bedroom of the condo. Before I took the picture, and saw the beautiful blossoms outside the window, I remember thinking, well maybe this place isn't so bad after all.Time
This was taken later in the morning, just as the sun was moving towards the back of the condo.Lighting
Nature gave me what I needed for this picture. It was one of those instances that I happened to be in the room at the perfect time to capture this shot.Equipment
I have three camera's that I use. One is my Cannon 4D, a point and shoot, and my phone. For this picture my phone was right there and I didn't want there to be a possibility that the light may change so I used it. My phone has pro mode, but in this case I just stood in the exact place I saw it first and was able to get the same view.Inspiration
Just seeing the flowers through the window inspired me.Editing

I have my Cannon 4D with two lenses (a 75-300mm zoom and a 28-80mm zoom). it's my favorite. My first one was lost in the fire, but we were lucky enough to find a decent used one to replace it. I know I could upgrade, but this camera makes me happy. I have the point in shoot because I like to play around with it and my phone camera (Samung Galaxy S6, which has a cool feature of pro mode).Feedback
To capture a similar shot there are a couple things. Know your camera and what it can do. My phone camera can be limited, but I can manipulate it to give me a very close view to what I see with my eyes. Also being steady. Not that there's movement going on in this shot, but sometimes when you get excited about something beautiful and you want so much to capture it your hands go all bouncy. I take a deep breath, drop my shoulders, hold it and take the shot. That way I know it will come out clear.
