This photo was taken at the Michael J. Kirwan Reservoir in Ravenna, Ohio. This was actually my first try at using a ND filter.Time
I took this shot about 5pm, it was getting to be the beginning of winter so I was running out of light to get a shot. It would have been completely dark by 6pm. It worked out in my favor though because the lighting from the setting sun really made this shot have some interest.Lighting
I was glad to have some still! :)Equipment
I used a Canon 70D, on a Dolica Pro tripod with a Canon EF-S 10-22mm lens and 10stop ND filter. Plus a remote to delay the shot about 30secs.Inspiration
I really wanted to utilize the water with the ND Filter. I was always amazed at the results of delaying the shutter. Everything becomes so dream-like.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom to edit this, not much was done. I did brighten up the pic a bit and add to the saturation. In my camera bag
I always have my Canon 70D of course, canon 17-22mm, Canon 24-70mm, a flash with remote and wireless capabilities. My tripod, and various shades of ND filters. Not too mention business cards :)Feedback
Get out and shoot!!!!!! I get a lot of compliments and questions of how do you shoot such amazing images. I tell them I get out and shoot as much as possible. I learn something new about my camera the more I use it and different effects I can achieve. It takes a lot of shots to get one good image most of the time and my camera is no good sitting on the table at home collecting dust.
