This photo was taken on a boardwalk that leads to a beach called Rainbow Haven in Nova Scotia, Canada. It is as beautiful as it sounds.Time
My friend asked me to capture some photos of her son to help celebrate turning three. We decided that an evening shoot, around 7pm, would capture the adventure that he so loves.Lighting
The lighting in this photo is my absolute favorite. A boy running towards a soft but colourful light, is a reminder that childhood and life are full of warm summer adventures and magic.Equipment
This photo was actually one of my very first shots with my new Canon 70d. Nothing like breaking in a new camera by the ocean, and hoping you don't drop it in the sand.Inspiration
I wanted to show the high energy and wonder that comes with turning three years old. I hope that his mother could be forever taken back in time to these busy but precious years.Editing
This particular evenings sky was very colorful, but the colour needed to be boosted slightly to capture how dramatic this beautiful sky really was.In my camera bag
The only things I have in my "big black purse" is a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens, a 50mm f/1.8 lens, and a love for my passion. Okay, and maybe some snacks. You never know how long and where your adventure may take you, am I right?Feedback
I really enjoy shooting in the evening light. It can bring drama and life to any photo, and really set the stage for stunning images. If I could give any advice it would be to use our beautiful earth as a backdrop every chance you get. Morning, evening, summer or fall, there is nothing more wonderful than natures own beauty!
