One of the most exciting parts of our trip to Tortuguero was looking for tree frogs in a swampy area in the hotel. They usually become active around 7-8 pm and can be found in the long leafs and branches of heliconia flowers. These frogs are non poisonous and can be located by the "clicking" noise they make when they call the females.
