Location
Photo taken of spider’s web neatly positioned in the corner of an Aussie made ‘hills hoist’ clothesline in our backyard, looking upwards at the sky.Time
We live in the tropics and photo was taken during the cooler months, about 7am in the morning.Lighting
With the morning sunlight coming from my left side, I positioned the camera on an angle looking upwards so that I could capture the refraction of light passing through the dewdrops.Equipment
Photo was taken some time ago, not long after I just started getting into photography using a Panasonic DMC-ZS3 camera, yes a point and shoot camera, on macro setting, no flash or tripod was used.Inspiration
On this particular morning, there was a thick fog in the neighbourhood. Looking over the backyard from our high set veranda, I could see lots of spider’s webs glistening in the early morning sunlight and as I got closer, I could see they were covered in dew drops.Editing
Yes, I converted the photo from colour to black and white, added contrast, shadow and sharpened to enhance overall image. In my camera bag
Speaking from experience, it always pays off to carry a spare set of batteries … that has been fully charged …and not forgotten about since the last photo…Feedback
Early in the morning is the best time of day to capture spider web’s covered in dew drops, before the sun comes out and evaporates the dew drops … and enjoy the moment.
